Default Is this possible?

I went through your demos, and think Showcase might be a solution for what I'm looking for.

Here's my existing database.

BachLoyalist.com - Instrument Database ONLINE

I think my approach would be to to use my fields, and define as attirbutes & attribute types in your system. Then I could add new features, such as adding images to my database. So far so good.

My question is, will it be easy to show the list (sorted by a field, or fields) as a summary list of products? similar to the link I show above...

Lastly, when will this be updated for VB4, as I am strating the process now of cutting over my site to this...

One last question, is the license for just one site ($395), or for unlimited domains on my dedicated server? I have 2-3 other VB sites that would also benefit from your tool...

Thanks in advance -
InterFX

Thanks for joining our site and your interest in our products.

To address your first question we do not currently offer a list view similar to the one you have. For your site it would pretty easy to build a custom display option that could be accessed as a new search type and display is a format similar to what you have now. It would require a few hours as a consulting engagement but I'm confident we could support the need.

As for vB4 we do not currently have a timeline set for all of our products to be enhanced to support vB4. The reason for this is that we really need to find a way to support our current customer base of 3.8.X users and new 4.0 users from the same code base. If we have to split to code base into two products, one for 3.8.X and another for 4.0.X it will become very expensive to maintain both over time. One of my tasks for the week between Christmas and New Years is determine how we might do this and what it will take to update all our products to use whatever I come up with.

As for pricing licenses are on a per site basis. If you have additional sites that you would like to use ShowCase or any of our other products on we can usually offer some discounting. Just contact me through the Contact Us link at the top of the page and we can open a dialog about what you would like to do, what products you would like to use, etc.

I'll also mention that if you would like a more hands-on demo of any of our products let me know and I'll have our Director of Support, Nathan Freedenberg, contact you to arrange a time to speak.

Thanks and I look forward to speaking with you further.

Mark

Thanks for the quick reply... From a high level guess on the list view, can you or someone PM a rough idea on how much additional cost (in addition to the license) would be required to accomplish something like this? I'm assuming I'm not the first one to ask for this type of a list... (perhaps I can help your team understand how to do it for a special price? (hint, hint)

Right now I'm setting my budget, and I need a ball park price understanding of your potential solution... drop me a PM, that would be great...

I understand your question on VB3.8 vs. Vb4. I'm sure this is a common question for VB developers...

Thanks again-

Actually you are the first person that has requested a textual list view ;) I would expect that it would take me about a day to build, debug, and test.

I'll contact you via email and we can discuss requirements further.

Thanks!

I second the request for a text list, at least as an option. I can see where this would be useful depending on the type of site.

Also, I would suggest allowing the admin to chose which fields get displayed as columns, rather then just a select few default ones.
