Patrick,
Thanks for your post. Currently ShowCase does not include a commenting system. The reason is that we wanted to get customers using ShowCase in different ways and gather their feedback on what they felt would be the next features they would request. While not currently planned for our next release in October I suspect commenting will be feature added soon thereafter based on the feedback we receive. To date we've received feedback about extending ShowCase to support a reviews system, tracking a showcase over time (history), additional data types, as well as linking showcase types to one another.

I feel that commenting is a feature that will be added. I would like to work with some customer implementations of ShowCase to determine things like the following:

- how are comments moderated (if necessary)
- what frequency should people be able to leave comments
- should ratings be offered
- what type of ratings should be supported (star, 1-5, 1-10, recommend/neutral/not recommend)
- how should ratings be limited (one per user, etc.)

Implementing these types of features would go a long way toward enabling ShowCase to be used also as a review system. Working with customers that have implemented ShowCase and can provide us with use cases in how they would like to see it "tuned" would help us greatly.

Thanks!

Mark

Updates are included for one year. After a years time like many other products in the vBulliten there is a smaller annual fee to keep the license current and have access to all updates.

Robert,

You can find ShowCase being used in my site as WheelFinder and Badges in the NavBar. Site is Motoring Alliance :: MINI Cooper Forums

FerrariChat is using showcase as well. Their install is a lot more hidden unless you are a registered premiom member. However, if you go to Remember this car at 2003 Italian Carfest? - FerrariChat.com you will see My Garage in the postbit for some members.

MG-Rover.org Forums - Powered by vBulletin is also using ShowCase as a Garage type. You can see examples from the NavBar, just select Garages.

Divebook.ca has recently created a ShowCase type as well, please see Robert's ShowCase :: Robert's Diving Gear

Thanks for the interest,

Nathan
