Steve,
Currently all images in a ShowCase are constrained to the same maximum width for both high-res and thumbnail images. While we have not yet provided a featured ShowCase functionality in the product like we are doing with Garage I expect that this will be added in an upcoming release (we stagger releases between our products so that we can have a rolling update schedule and feature enhancement process).
The way I would propose that this be done is with some additional vBulletin options to set the following:
- max width and height of thumb displayed in featured showcase area
- showcase type to use in featured showcase area
- duration of feature (day, week, month)
These would be used to control the content and would automatically take the high-res version of the given showcase image and resize it for use as the featured showcase.
Obviously this isn't something that we have in place today but it could be considered for the next release if it is something that is needed.
As for moderation, there are already controls in place to set moderation policies for showcase types and usergroups. For example you can moderate on creation and update of showcases so you could review images that were uploaded to a given showcase type to insure they meet your requirements.
Let me know what other questions you may have.
Best regards,
Mark
