Default Banners in forum

Does the Vendor tool put in the small banners in the forum listings like shown in the image? I'm pretty sure the site shown is NOT using the Vendor tool ,but thought I have seen others that were.

Seems like I have looked at 1000's of site using DTO tools.

Anyone have any thoughts on what to charge for Vendors ads? My new site is very small right now and was thinking at starting around $50/year. Heck 4 would cover the cost. I'm a member on another very large site that is getting $500/month top end down to 100/month for small ad....what is the "norm" for your site?

I know it has a lot to do with member base and hits/day just looking for ideas to see if i'm on the right track.

Thanks
FannBlade

Thanks for contacting us.

Vendor Tools does not support banner placement in that forum area. We do supply a very rudimentary add on, DTO Ads Module, with the product that will aid in basic placement. Depending on the version of vB you are using there are better options for banner placement such as Red Tyger. Our product is designed to be a directory and provide a tool set for your vendors in aiding them to be more active on your site, in turn this increases their potential for successful marketing campaigns.

Pricing is as much art as it is science. You want to be low enough to attract vendors but no so high as they do not feel there is value to your site. If you have a relationship with any potential vendors we recommend that you open a dialog with them and discuss pricing.

Thanks Nathan.
I looked at the Red Tyger site...not much to see. Personally I prefer to stay with an app that is well supported like DTO. It's not a do or dye thing anyway. I am using the latest version 4.1.7 patch 2

I do have a supplier that is willing to work with me so I can get some input how it works on both ends, kind of training program for me.

During that time it should give me some incite on pricing.

Any thoughts of bringing products into other formats like XenForo? I posted over there and they don't have a Vendor app and seems to be some interest. I'm going to purchase 1 more VB site using most of your products plus the vendor app on onther, but then I'm going to do 3 in XenForo sites. So may be an area to look into. Although I can only imagine what kind of time the would take learning an all new format.

Thanks for your time. Look for a future customer very soon.

Xenforo is on our radar, but we are also keeping an eye on the current legal actions. Once that matter has been resolved we will look more into creating versions that support the Xenforo framework.
