Default 1 rep, multiple vendors

We often have one vendor who is paying to promote multiple businesses. In this case we usually link their account with the primary business. We cannot seem to assign one rep to multiple vendors, at least we get this error message when we try:

"Unable for a user to be a vendor rep for more than one vendor"

Any particular reason why this is the case? Would this be hard to modify and make happen or would this break a lot of stuff if we tried it?

The reason for a rep being associated with a single vendor is for the vendorcp. Currently when logging in there is no way to select which vendor the rep is logging in for. The login process would need to be extended so that immediately after login the user would select which vendor he will be managing.

Nathan, you are exactly right. In an ideal situation if a user was only linked to a single vendor then no selection would be needed and they would proceed to the VendorCP just like they do now. If the user was linked to more then one vendor then a page would display asking them to select which vendor account they wanted to use (a simple drop down and continue button would suffice).

We are seeing this more and more and having to create multiple usernames is a long work around and not user friendly for the vendors. I hope you all will consider this for a future release.

Along the same lines for a network such as yours where a vendor may be active on several sites it would be good if there was someway there was single sign on with a drop down where the vendor selects the site as well. I'll add these to our road map to discuss and potentially plan.

Thanks for the idea.
