Posted this in another section but is better placed here as Mark mentioned. A big thing for most car sites is the ability to handle events in a good way. There exist some unsupported plugins for this on vb.org but they need updates. The plugins I think of are:

vB Event Forums - vBulletin.org Forum

There also exist a hack to integrate these two. I would be nice with a new version inspired from these, that can handle everything that would be needed around an event. With the ability for all users to upload their pictures for that event, tag the picture with users/cars thats in it. Also for people to talk/blogg about the event in question. Ability to create subsections to the event like before and after threads. An easy way to register to the event with all it includes.

My hope is that you pick this up as it would be a very appreciated module I think.

Any idea on what the last version of vBulletin these support and if they are receiving any type of support from the author(s)?

Farcaster's Event Attendance v2 does work in 3.8.x I'm using it on both Motoring Alliance :: MINI Cooper Forums running 3.8.2 and Metroplex MINI running 3.8.3.


vB Event Forums is reported to not work well in anything above the 3.6.x level. I've not tried it. The owner of the hack has not been online at vb.org since Jan 09.

Ok, will try Farcaster's Event Attendance v2 then, saw some posts saying that stuff didnt work in 3.8.x and it hasnt been updated in over a year. But maybe they configured it wrong.

Another thing though is that Farcaster's Event Attendance v2 is just a part of whats needed in a complete event system. Many of the things I mentioned above is missing.

I will try Farcaster's mod but it would be nice to have a DTO product to manage this and integrate with the other products. Vendors could organize special sales, Clubs could organize meetings ...
