Looks quite interesting. Something we'll be keeping a close eye on. It sure would be nice not to have to buy software and support from a company I am competing with on subject matter.

Very true on the competition, It kills me to see this happening.

XenForo looks like a solid forum platform. LOT'S of social networking features, won't be for everyone for sure.

Can't wait to get my hands on it to see how easy the modding community can produce the quality mods offered by vBulletin and DriveThru.

Yeahhh it is interesting but IPB is also really nice... I don't know witch one i should choose for my next board! Xenforo, vB or IPB...

Is DTO thinking about to develop in the far future for other forums like IPB of Xenforo?

I've been thinking of launching a new enthusiast-type site for myself and have been scratching my head on what I would use for it. I really hate how vB4 makes it that much more difficult for add-on developers so I'm almost inclined to try IPB. That said I have such little time that vB4 may win just because I know it better than IPB.

From a DTO perspective I doubt that I'll offer any IPB support in the foreseeable future. Given that vBulletin sales are few and far between for us I can't really see trying to offer products on even smaller market size platforms. One thing I will say for IPB is that they really try to help add-on developers and promote even products. vBulletin could learn a few things from them.

First I want to say how great your showcase product is. I am sad to say I have switched to XenForo from vB 4. I just can't take lack of communication and direction of the software platform.

What are your thoughts on releasing a XenForo version of DTO Showcase?

Scott

We are looking to add support for other forum platforms. At this time I cannot comment on which ones or when they will be fully developed.

DTO plugin compatibility is a major hangup on a xF switch...it appears xF 1.1 will have nearly all the other features I need.

Xenforo versions is under consideration on our product road-map. We are waiting on the legal issues to be cleared up before committing the resources required.
